Theotokos Kecharitomeni Monastery, Lying just a small distance to the southeast of the modern village of Troezen (Trizina), is the "contemporary" monastery Theotokos Kecharitomeni, built by Father Epiphanios (Theodoropoulos) in 1976. One year after it was built the first monks settled there on the Virgin Mary's name day.

Southeast of Trizina is Aghios Dimitrios Monastery, a post-Byzantine monastery ruin that was built in 1455. Ancient ruins of the Church of Panagia Episkopi can be seen in Trizina.

The old historical Holy Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi of Poros is located 4km east of the main city of Poros island and is built on the slope of a pine forest. Inside the church there is an excellent (iconostasis) frescoe (templo) of exquisite craft. A must to see. Closed to all at lunch time. A short walk down the slope takes one to a rocky beach with Tavernas, great for lunch.
